Don't Ignore The Invisible

by Jeff Thompson on February 05, 2016

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. - Ephesians 6:12

You and I need to be reminded of the reality of this verse on a regular basis.

Right now, there is probably some area of life that is confusing or frustrating you:

There’s a relationship that seems wrapped in tension, and things just seem to go wrong every time you try and fix things…

You just can’t seem to get through to one of your kids…

Someone at work seems to have it out for you…

You’re easily angered, and you can’t figure out why or what changed…

We’re often experts at analyzing our own lives and situations and examining all of the angles… while overlooking what is often the most important one - the spiritual reality.

I don’t know about you but I am so quick to forget that there really is an enemy of my soul, who desires to bring destruction into my marriage, my family, and every area of my life. He is strategically working to get my focus off of Jesus.

Fortunately, I need only call upon that same Jesus in prayer and things begin to change.

That’s what I want to remind us of today. In that area of confusion and frustration, have we prayed? Have we taken it to the Lord? Have we asked the Holy Spirit to get involved in the situation?

There have been so many times when I’ve done just that and slapped my own forehead in amazement that I didn’t recognize until then what was really going on.

The Lord knows what we don’t know, sees what we don’t see, and has the solution we’re seeking.

Don’t ignore the invisible.
